The Instagram Notes update is here! Notes are short text posts that pop up at the top of DM inboxes. It’s kind of like a pinned push notification for your DMs. To leave a note, select followers you follow back or people on your Close Friends list. Then draft a post up to 60 characters and your note will appear at the top of their Instagram inbox for 24 hours.
Replies to Notes will appear as DMs in your inbox. From asking for restaurant recommendations to planning events, I love this option. I think it give people a casual and spontaneous way to express themselves and connect with each other, it’s another clever twist on the AMA feature.
You also now have the option to @everyone in group messages (similar to Discord). The @everyone triggers an @ mention notification for everyone in the group chat.
A new Instagram update to manage interests
Here’s to hoping Instagram finally takes note of our interests.
The new “Manage Interests” feature gives you the authority to manage topics you see on your feed per your set interests. You’ll be given the option to choose several options, from music, sports, pop culture, style, and more. Maybe the new feature will allow us to manage content and ads. But it’s yet to be tested by The Sauce on whether the accuracy of the feature is any good.
